Yolanda F. Horvath

SOUTH BEND - Yolanda F. "Kelly" Horvath, 90, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011, in her home. Yolanda was born on February 19, 1921, in South Bend, to Frank and Hattie (Rozploch) Kielton, and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed with Al's Anchor Inn on Western Avenue for 42 years. She was also a teacher's aide at I.U.S.B. and McKinley School. On October 2, 1943, in St. Adalbert Church, as Yolanda F. Kielton, she married G. John Horvath, who preceded her in death on January 20, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Joan (Charles) Hurley of South Bend, IN, and Maureen (Joseph) Sassano of Peru, IL; five sons, Bernard (Judy) Horvath of Jeffersonville, IN, Charles (Kay) Horvath of South Bend, IN, Robert (Cheryl) Horvath of South Bend, IN, Kevin Horvath of Overland Park, KS, and Brian (Zita) Horvath of South Bend, IN; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Martha Dobosiewicz, Pauline Niedosik and Theresa (Daniel) Niedbalski, all of South Bend, IN. Yolanda was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lubawy, and one brother, Anthony Kielton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Monday, July 25, 2011, in Holy Family Church. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Monday in the Holy Family Church, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Yolanda was a member of Holy Family Parish and Altar Rosary Society, Chippewa Travel Club, St. Adalbert P.T.A., and St. Hedwig Golden Cluster. She was a 1939 graduate of South Bend Catholic High School and had attended the South Bend College of Commerce. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Grade School.
