Mabel Marie Zehner, 83, of 7749 North 1200 East, Walkerton, Ind., died after an illness on Thursday, April 17, in her home.She was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Marshall County, Ind., and was a lifetime area resident. On Aug. 17, 1935, she married Merle M. Zehner, who preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1986. Her parents, Dayton and Cora (Stump) Ross, and her brothers, Gerald Ross and Milard Ross, also preceded her in death. Mabel was a homemaker and is survived by her son, Jerry Zehner and his wife Phyllis of Walkerton; two daughters, Sue Sherk and her husband Ron of Plymouth, and Karen Rozycki and her husband Ralph of North Liberty, Ind.; and by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mabel and her late husband sold produce at the Farmer's Market in South Bend, Ind., for over 30 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Pine Creek Church §f the Brethren, 69531 Pine Road, North Liberty. There will be viewing one-half hour prior to services, with Norman Replogle officiating. Burial will immediately follow services at New Oakhill Cemetery in Plymouth.
