Ann Kourbetis, 94, of Clermont, FL passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 in the Lakeview Gardens Assisted Living Home, Winter Garden, FL. She was born on January 18, 1916 in Chicago, IL to James and Sophia (Poulopoulos) Nicopoulos. On May 6, 1962, in Chicago, IL, she married Milton Kourbetis who preceded her in death on June 17, 1987.Prior to her marriage, Ann worked for Encyclopedia Britannica and Carson Pirie Scott, as an interior decorator. Ann and her husband owned the Bunny Hop Restaurant, a liquor store and Cheers Bar & Restaurant. Ann lived in South Bend, IN till 1999 when she moved to FL. Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Grams, brother-in-law, John Kouroubetes of South Bend, IN and many nieces and nephews, including, Katherine and Tom Sherman of Clermont, FL and Michael Kouroubetes of South Bend, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 in St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ann Kourbetis may be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct. South Bend, IN 46637.
