VANDALIA - Irene R. Price, 92, of Vandalia, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 1:30 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in the Cass County Medical Care Facility. Irene was born on February 10, 1922, in South Bend, to Joseph and Rose (Kepes) Kish. She was a private secretary at Bendix during World War II, and retired from Koszegi. Irene was a longtime member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its St. Anne Society and the Calvert Rod & Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary. She loved preparing her Hungarian recipes and spending time at the lake. On November 22, 1941, she married Harry H. Price. He died on February 12, 1989. Irene was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Bernth, and a brother, Joseph Kish. Surviving are a daughter, Michele (Keith) Mayes of South Bend; two sons, Harry J. "Buddy" Price and Douglas A. Price, both of Shavehead Lake, MI; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Linda) Bernth, Daniel (April) Bernth, Rachel (Greg) Zick and Orrin Thomas Price; and 3 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Leigha and Haleigh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Monday, July 7, 2014, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church or Cass County Medical Care Facility.
