The family ran a construction business in the Buchanan area for 16 years and became U.S. citizens in June 1960. In 1969 Rita and Harry moved to New Castle, Ind., where they owned New Castle Homes Construction Co. Rita was vice president and secretary of the business until they sold the business and retired in 1988.

In 1999 they returned to Buchanan, residing at 321 N. Detroit St. Rita was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, in the Swem Funeral Home, Buchanan, where a prayer service will be at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Buchanan, with Father Charles Page officiating.
