FLORAL CITY, FL - Eugene (Gene) A. Tafelski, 75, of Floral City, FL passed away on August, 19, 2018 at Crystal River Health and Rehab in Crystal River, FL. He was born in South Bend, IN on May 5, 1943 to the late Alex and Johanna (Thiers) Tafelski. Gene was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Tafelski) Mezzei; his sister-in-law, Bonnie (Stormoen) Casper, and many fur-babies. He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend. Gene married Brenda (Stormoen) Tafelski in 1980 and moved to FL in 1981. He owned and operated Gene's Marathon in IN, and Monkey Wrench/Cadillac Ranch Sales and Repairs in FL. He enjoyed working on cars, cruising, camping, food, and margaritas. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his three children, Cyndi Tafelski and Lisa Coffman of IN, and Michael (Katie) Tafelski of FL; his sister, Deborah (Bill) (Tafelski) Burke of MT; and brother-in-law, Steve Mezzie of IN. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Edythe Green as well as several sisters- and brothers-in-law of IN; his grandchildren, Kyle Lawson, Brittany Coffman, and Dustin Coffman of IN, and Chelsea (Ken Soracchi) Tafelski, Courtney Tafelski, Autumn Ripp, and Richelle Morse of FL; his great-grandchildren, Logan Lawson, Brayzlee Reiber, and Charlee Coffman of IN; his niece, Katherine Hart and nephew, Alex Hart of MT, and nephew, Steven Mezzei of MD, as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews of IN.
