Leigh W. Janicki, 70, a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020. Leigh was born on June 3, 1950 in South Bend, IN to the late Daniel & Christine ( Marnocha) Janicki. He was a graduate of John Adams High School and grew up in the River Park neighborhood. Leigh worked at Kroger for over 40 years until retiring in 2013. On August 15, 1980 he married Virginia “Ginny Lee” Rockwell who preceded him in death in 2005. Then he was younger Leigh enjoyed spending time at the lake and fishing with his brothers. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and loved watching the Bears play on Sundays. He was a quiet man with simple pleasures but he will be sorely missed by those that knew and loved him. Leigh is survived by his sisters; Janice Farabaugh and Peggy (Rick) Weldy both of South Bend, and his brothers; Daniel (Jackie) Janicki of Port Charlotte, FL and Elliot (Cindy) Janicki of South Bend and his sister in law Darlene Janicki of South Bend. Along with his siblings, he leaves behind his eleven nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews. Leigh was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Janicki and niece, Chrissy Janicki.Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday October 16, 2020 at Southlawn Cemetery, 61300 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, IN. Palmer Funeral Home- Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
