Patricia J. “Pat” Spitzer, 66, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Wednesday, June 01, 2011 at Jenny’s Place in Berrien Springs.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville with Rev. Jonathan Kruschel officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may call from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Pat was born September 5, 1944 in Manila, Arkansas to Elbert & Dessie (Williams) Lomax. She married Ralph H. Spitzer in Stevensville at St. Paul’s. Pat was employed at Heath Company, St. Joseph for fifteen years before their closing. She earned her CNA certification and worked for Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph, Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, and most recently as a private duty nursing assistant. Pat was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stevensville American Legion Auxiliary-Post 568, and the Buchanan Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the annual Spitzer Fest, fishing, bowling, camping, dancing and tending to her flower gardens. Pat is survived by her husband Ralph; her children-Teresa (Steve) Carlson of Baroda, Michael (Judy) Groenke of Stevensville, Jennifer (Peter) Rossi of Oak Park, IL, Shawn (Becki) Spitzer of Haslett, MI; nine grandchildren-Brian, Nicholas, Melissa, Michelle, Jessica, Lucca, Leo, Henry & Austin; and three great-grandchildren-Blake, Isabella & Trent. She was preceded in death by her parents.
