SOUTH BEND - Paul Thomas Gorski, 74, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, after a nine-year battle with Parkinson's. Paul was the loving husband of Nancy Riggs Gorski and daughter Cindy Gorski. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Gorski. The son of Raymond and Stella Gorski, Paul was born in South Bend, Indiana, on February 25, 1940. Paul graduated with honors from St. Joseph's High School in 1957 and went on to earn both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Norte Dame. In addition to his wife and daughters, Paul is survived by his brother, Bernard Gorski, and his wife Sandra, and their children, Mark, Tom and Brenda, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Paul retired after an over forty year career as Vice President of Mechanical Engineering at Rockwell Automation in 2005. Paul was a member of Jesus Our Risen Savior parish and loved golfing, running and antique furniture refinishing. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus in South Bend. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at "Jesus Our Risen Savior" parish, 2575 Reidville Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michelle Gorski Memorial Scholarship College of Charleston Foundation at 66 George St., Charleston, SC 29424; or Hospice Compassus at 1923 E.
