MISHAWAKA - Rachel E. Heritz, 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's in South Bend. Rachel was born on November 11, 1913 in , ND as the daughter of Emmanuel and Minnie (Sandrick) Wyman. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, a son, Herbert H. Heritz, and a great-grandson, Michael Grembowicz. On May 26, 1934 in Stevensville, MI, as the former Rachel Wyman, she married Herbert A. Heritz. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1973. Surviving are a son, John R. (Lynett) Heritz of Mishawaka, daughter-in-law, Irene Heritz of South Bend, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Rachel will be on Wednesday, December 4 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bryan Borger officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 437 Dragoon Trail, Mishawaka, IN 46544 or to American Cancer Society , Great Lakes Division Northwest Indiana Office, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
