MISHAWAKA - Veronica T. Kopczynski, 91, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was born September 9, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Pelagia "Blanche" (Kujawa) Nowacki, and was a lifelong area resident. On August 5, 1944, as Veronica T. Nowacki, she married James Richard Kopczynski, who preceded her in death December 4, 2009. She is survived by her children, Jeanette (Joseph) McKew of Mishawaka, Daniel (Celeste) Kopczynski of South Bend, Richard (Patty) Kopczynski of Three Oaks, MI, and Debra (Michael) Clymer of South Bend; five grandchildren, Daniel Kopczynski, Donald McKew, Nicholas Kopczynski, Taracha Navarro and Brooke Kopczynski; seven great-grandchildren, Tynder Kopczynski, Evelyn Navarro, Micah McKew, Jose Navarro, Anastasia Kopczynski, Finley McKew and Taylor Kopczynski; another great-grandchild on the way, baby Kopczynski; two sisters, Helen Ornat and Leona Bentkowski of South Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Aurellia Nowacki of South Bend and Dorothy Parks of Winston-Salem, NC. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Alexandria and Francine Nowacki and Clementine Locsi; and six brothers, Edward, Alexander, Ted, Stanley, John and Elgin Nowacki. Mrs. Kopczynski was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of PNA 83. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619-1598; or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
