DIXON, MARY ANN Of Portage Formerly of Hartford
Mary Ann Dixon 77, of Portage, Michigan formerly of Hartford, passed from her life on earth to eternity in heaven on Thursday; February 19, 2004 at Bronson Methodist Hospital; Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mary was born on February 21, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana the daughter of Anton and Katherine (Thuringer) Strantz. She was formerly employed at Conservative Life Insurance Company of South Bend, was a member of the Christ Child Society of South Bend and retired from the National City Bank which was formerly known as the Van Buren State Bank of Hartford. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday, February 23 at the Calvin Funeral Home; Hartford, where a Prayer Service will be said at 7 P.M.. Mass of Christian Burial will be held to honor her memory at 11 A.M. on Tuesday February 24 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. Father German Perez-Diaz will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association; the Christ Child Society or donors choice. Mary is survived by two daughters Katherine "Kitty" (Frank) Whitaker of Portage and Pamela Piehl and her companion Jill DeBruyn of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren Kim; Stephanie; Cory; Michele; Mark and Tammy and 3 great grandchildren Katie; Sean and Benjamin. Also surviving are 3 sisters Kathryn Screes of Granger, Indiana; Betty Strantz and Margaret Strantz both of South Bend, Indiana. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers John Strantz and Anton Strantz Jr.
