Jacqueline Lee Cinal
April 6, 1948 - Jan. 18, 2012
SOUTH BEND - Jacqueline "Jackie" Cinal passed on to eternity on January 18, 2012, after a sudden but brief illness. Jackie was one of seven children born to the marriage of Peter and Evelyn Ciula, who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Zachary. Jackie was born in South Bend and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She attended St. Adalbert Catholic Grade School. Jackie graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1966 and attended classes to be an Activity Director at IVY Technical College. Jackie worked well with the elderly and for several years worked as the activity director in area nursing homes. She had a way with the elderly and was loved and appreciated by many. She found ways to bring a bit of joy to their long days. In recent years Jackie was a fixture at the Martin's Super Market on Western Avenue where she worked in the deli. Her friends and family were always sure to be greeted with hugs and kisses as they shopped there. Jackie leaves behind three sons whom she adored, Nathan Cinal of Tampa, Florida, Shane Cinal of Bloomington, IN, and Shannon Cinal of South Bend. Jackie will always be remembered as a great and loving mother. Also left to remember wonderful childhood memories are her siblings, Bryan (Peggy) Ciula, Peter (Linda) Ciula, Bernadette (Brian) Dolezal, Michael (Christy) Ciula, Douglas (Connie) Ciula and Victoria (Ray) Fleck. Jackie's sisters and brothers remember with appreciation how she did her best to step up to be the lady of the house, taking responsibility for household chores and responsibilities while their mother was ill in the hospital for extended periods when they were children. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, January 26, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006; or to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
