SOUTH BEND - Ernest I. Wroblewski, age 89, of Lake City, TN, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the Summit View of Lake City. He was born December 16, 1921, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Ignatius and Helen Mroczkiewcz Wroblewski. Ernest was a former member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, TN. Ernest was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He enjoyed spelunking and jogging. He was a member of the Smokey Mountain Hiking Club, The Boy Scouts, VFW #8748, Knights of Columbus, and was a 1950 graduate of Purdue University and a member of the Purdue Association. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his sons, James and John Wroblewski; brother, Robert Wroblewski; and sister, Delphine Szymanski. Survivors include sons, Thomas Wroblewski, Knoxville, TN, Paul Wroblewski, Orlando, FL; daughters, Diane Wroblewski, Powell, TN, Cynthia Hicky & Doug, Glen Ellyn, IL, Teresa Banning & John Laluz, New Mexico, Cecilia Wroblewski, Lousville, KY; sister, Georgie Zawlocki & Dick, South Bend, IN; 9 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM today, October 12, 2011, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Bill Gahagan officiating. Interment will be 1:30 PM today, October 12, 2011, at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway with Full Military Honors by the Volunteer State War Era Honor Guard.
