SOUTH BEND - Barbara Alice Ford, 73, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at her home. She was born September 1, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John & Blanche (Malkowski) Turczynski. On June 23, 1966, in Montezuma, Indiana, she married William W. "Bill" Ford Sr. He survives along with a son, William (Cherie) Ford Jr. of South Bend, four daughters, a granddaughter, Heather (Andy) Gates, and a great-granddaughter, Melissa Gates, who lived with her, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Bob Turczynski and Norb Turczynski, both of South Bend. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 3 brothers, Gene, John and Irvin Turczynski, and 4 sisters, Virginia, JoAnna, Margie and Dolores. Barb graduated in 1958 from St. Joseph High School in South Bend. She enjoyed making things out of leather, fishing, hunting and horseback riding. She worked as a machinist/inspector for Well-Tec and ADCO. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place. Elkhart Cremation Services and Funeral Center is entrusted with arrangements. Published in South Bend Tribune on Aug. 8, 2014
