SOUTH BEND - Harold T. Nikoley, 91, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Thursday, June 12, in Kalamazoo. He was born in South Bend, IN, the son of Theodore and Frieda (Lindeman) Nikoley, and had been a resident of the Kalamazoo area for the last year. Harold served his country in the United States Navy during WW II in the South Pacific. He loved being outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. He was an active member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Harold was employed by the Studebaker Automobile Company until they closed. From there, he worked for the Chrysler Company, in Rockford, IL until he retired. He and his wife spent their retirement years in Melbourne, FL. In 1948, he married Hildegarde Tamke, who survives. Harold is also survived by their daughters, Carol (Michael) Beach of LaPorte, IN and Judith (Tim) Early of Kalamazoo, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., with Rev. Larry Brelje officiating. Interment will take place in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. A visitation will take place on Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.
