SOUTH BEND - Betty A. Botka, 84, died Monday. She is survived by sons, Ken (Barbara) & Don (Linda) Botka; daughter, Patricia (Rodney) Platt; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael (Erica) & Shelly Botka, & Sarah (Effrain) Salazar; & great-granddaughter, Hanna Long. Visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, with a Rosary at 4:30 pm. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at noon, with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral on Friday in the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.

SOUTH BEND - Betty A. Botka, 84, passed away at 11:10 pm on Monday, August 6, 2012. Betty was born July 26, 1928, in South Bend, to the late John and Frances (Pruzak) Kwitek. On August 6, 1948, Betty married Louis Botka Jr., who passed away on December 23, 1991. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Kulwicki and Angeline Miller. Betty is survived by sons, Ken (Barbara) Botka and Don (Linda) Botka; daughter, Patricia (Rodney) Platt; grandchildren, Jennifer Botka, Michael (Erica) Botka, Shelly Botka and Sarah (Effrain) Salazar; and great-granddaughter, Hanna Long. Betty was an Insurance Agent with First Source Insurance for 20 years until she retired in June of 1990. She enjoyed reading, loved her family, and was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, August 9, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 12 pm, with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral on Friday, August 10, 2012, in the funeral home.
