SOUTH BEND - Irene Zdoniak, 91, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, in her residence. Irene was born on October 1, 1919, in Warsaw, Poland, to the late Jozef and Stanislawa Szostak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in February 1999. She was also preceded by her son, Henry Zdoniak, her grandson, Michael Zdoniak, and by her two brothers. She is survived by her son, Ted (Leola) Zdoniak; two grandchildren, Laminda (Kurt Dering) Wilson and Amy Zdoniak; and by her four great-grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Laminda Foree, Keyshawn Foree and Michael Zdoniak. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She worked at St. Mary's College as a housekeeper for 27 years. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today, March 2, 2011, in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on March 3, 2011, in the funeral home.
