July 17, 1934 - April 4, 2011 SOUTH BEND - Barbara Ann Spears Koziatek, 76, of East Fern Way, South Bend, passed away at home on Monday, April 4th. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on July 17th, 1934, to Wayne and Emily (Mackey) Vogel, who preceded her in death. On April 6, 1953, she married William Charles Spears. After his death, she married Vincent Koziatek. He also passed away in July 2000. She is survived by her children, Spencer (Patti) Spears of Naperville, Illinois, Amy (Ronald) Pierce of Osceola, Sloan (Jerrilynn) Spears and Norman (Kaye) Koziatek, both of Mishawaka, John (Tari) Koziatek of Michigan, Sue (Tom) Gapinski of South Bend and Sandy Koziatek of Georgia. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Karla Vogel. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Vogel. Mrs. Koziatek was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from AAA Chicago Motor Club after 30 years of service. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN. Burial will follow at St. Joseph P.R.C. Cemetery, South Bend.
