Elizabeth M. Nemeth was born on August 30, 1922 in Sopron, Hungary to Alajos (Louis) and Elizabeth (Hammerl) Czifra. She came to South Bend in 1929. On May 3, 1947 she married Peter J. Nemeth at St. Stephen's Church. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1978 as did her parents. She was a Washington High School graduate and was last employed at Torrington Co. Surviving are her children Patricia (Richard) Nemeth, Michael (Pam) Nemeth and Christine (John Kennedy) O'Brien and two grandchildren Neil and Kara O'Brien. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00pm Monday, September 21, 2015 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church, 929 Milton Street, South Bend, IN 46613, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 520 Crescent Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617 or Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct. South Bend, IN 46637. The family wishes to thank the Center for Hospice Care and Mike and Glenda and their staff at the Caring Cottage for their compassionate care.
