LAKEVILLE - John F. Andert, 86, passed away Wednesday, in his residence. Survivors include his son Kevin J. (Nancy) Andert Sr. of Lakeville; 3 grandchildren Kevin (Janelle) Andert Jr, Kristine (Keith) Price, and Kari A. Andert; 7 great-grandchildren and a sister Rosemary Nyerges of South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Family and friends may call from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, South Bend.

LAKEVILLE - John F. Andert, 86, passed away at 11:30 am Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in his residence. John was born on June 12, 1924 in South Bend to John and Neta (Cook) Andert. He retired from the South Bend Police Department where he was employed for 34 years. John was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the F.O.P. #36. He made saddle and tack after he retired and loved spending time with his grandchildren. On September 21, 1946 he married the former Cecelia Danielowicz. She died on April 12, 1980. John was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Andert. Survivors include his son, Kevin J. (Nancy) Andert Sr. of Lakeville; 3 grandchildren Kevin (Janelle) Andert Jr, Kristine (Keith) Price, and Kari A. Andert; 11 great-grandchildren, Kerri, Cassandra, Kylie, Kelsi, Colin, Bowen, Teagon, Taylor, Zoey, Vivian and Keith III; and a sister, Rosemary Nyerges of South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, September 13, 2010 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice Care.
