MISHAWAKA - Darlene Ann Kasznia, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka. Darlene was born on May 6, 1937, to Achielle and Mary (Byle) Van Bruaene. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Maenhout, Evelyn Crofoot and Georgine Bieganski; and a brother, Leroy Van Bruaene. On November 29, 1958, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, as the former Darlene Van Bruaene, she married Victor Kasznia. He survives along with two sons, Victor (Danielle) Kasznia Jr. and Joseph (Leanne) Kasznia, both of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Louis, Alexander, Elaine, Mitchel and Lauren Kasznia, and Devin Jodway; and a brother, Maurice “Bud” (Elsie) Van Bruaene. Darlene was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Dodge Manufacturing before she retired in 2003. Visitation will be on Friday, August 11, from 3 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 12, at 1 p.m., in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Cremation will follow and a private family graveside service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darlene's name to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Kasznia 50th

MISHAWAKA - Celebrating their 50th anniversary with a family dinner Saturday are Darlene and Victor Kasznia Sr. of Mishawaka. Victor Kasznia and Darlene VanBruaene married Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Bavo Catholic Church. They have two sons, Victor Jr. and Joseph, both of Mishawaka. They also have six grandchildren. Mr. Kasznia retired in 1995 as owner of Carpet On Wheels Inc. Mrs. Kasznia retired in 2003 as an administrative assistant at Rockwell Automotion/Dodge. They have lived in Mishawaka and South Bend all of their lives.
