SOUTH BEND - Mitchell A. Kopacz, 70, of South Bend, IN passed away at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 4, 1946 in Wildflecken, Germany to the late Anthony and Antonette (Iwan) Kopacz. On June 18, 1977 in South Bend, IN, he was united in marriage to Marsha A. (Percifull) Kopacz. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Marsha A. Kopacz; sisters, Veronica Rogers of Niles, MI and Jane (James) McCartney of Conifer, CO; brother, John (Linda) Kopacz of North Liberty, IN, twelve nieces and nephews and eleven great-nieces and nephews. Mitchell lived most of his life in South Bend, coming from Germany to Oklahoma to South Bend. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Electrician Tech for Indiana Michigan Power Company, retiring after thirty-five years. Mitchell was an avid golfer and Harley Davidson enthusiast. The family would like to say a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Firefly for the exceptional care and services.There will be no services or visitation.
