SOUTH BEND - Elinor Rose Van Vynckt, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 20 at home. Elinor was born on May 13, 1937 in South Bend to John and Luella (Bargeron) Van Vynckt. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Gaza De Volder; brothers, John Jr., Richard, Eugene, Charles and Robert and a son, Paul Van Vynckt. Surviving are sisters, Margaret Stuff of Marcellus, MI, Irene Marazita of Niles, MI and Joan (John) Jurek of South Bend; a brother, Edward Van Vynckt of California; and a granddaughter, Kayla Fraschetti. Elinor was a Telephone Operator for Ameritech for 20 years before she retired. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Elinor was a very private and independent person. For many years her life was devoted to her son, Paul, who preceded her in death on September 19, 2013.
