SOUTH BEND - Gladys S. Wrobel, 89, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Ignatius and Stella (Szymaniak) Bieganski. On May 12, 1951, she married Richard P. Wrobel, who preceded her in death on August 20, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rita A. Wrobel; a son, Richard W. Wrobel; and son-in-law, Jeff M. Nemeth. She is survived by four daughters, Diana J. (Mike) Martin and Patricia J. Wrobel, both of Cedar Rapids, IA, Janice (Patrick) Holdeman and Christina G. Nemeth, both of South Bend; a son, Daniel P. (Mary) Wrobel of South Bend; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Wrobel of Alabama; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a former Altar and Rosary Society member at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and adored her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to noon Monday, October 30, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in the church, with committal services to conclude at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Care Center.
