[N32745] Danny Belich
August 5, 1947 ~ July 21, 2022 (age 74)

Danny Belich, 74, residing in Granger, passed away at 9:05 am Thursday, July 21, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1947, in Dragerton, UT to the late Nick and Louise (Nucich) Belich. Danny served his country honorably in the United States Army, where he earned a Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. On July 25, 1981, in South Bend, Danny married the former Kathryn Van Kempen, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 40 years, he is survived by a daughter, Amy (Scott) Czarnecki of Osceola; sons, Ian (Amanda) Belich of Indianapolis and Nick Belich of South Bend; and six grandchildren, Ethan, Anthony, Eli, Aidan, Madison, and Logan. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Maryann Branch of Price, UT; sister-in-law, Linda Fleese of South Bend, and brother-in-law, Rev. Robert Van Kempen of Bristol, IN. Danny was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Belich; a brother, Robert Belich; and a brother-in-law, Robert Branch. Dan loved nothing more than to jump on his Harley with his wife on the back and make their way out West. He enjoyed mapping out, in great detail, their entire journey. Some of their greatest adventures included Wendall and Sue, who are family. Dan always had a smile on his face when he was sitting out back at his sister’s house in Utah surrounded by many nieces and nephews. Dan was known for his hugs, there was nothing quite like them and he will forever be missed by all. Memorial services for Danny will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Military graveside honors will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 - 11:00 am Friday, July 29, 2022, in the funeral home prior to services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Danny may be donated to Miller’s Vets, 747 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
