Raymond A. Dembinski

SOUTH BEND - Raymond A. Dembinski, 95, passed away at 11:50 am Saturday, April 13, 2013, in his residence. Raymond was born February 13, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Pauline (Dobrucki) Dembinski. Raymond was also preceded in death by a sister, Florence P. Zygulski, and brothers, Ervin and Benedict Dembinski. On April 27, 1946, in Holy Family Catholic Church, Raymond and Josephine (Bentkowski) Dembinski were married by Father Joseph Lesniak. Josephine survives along with a daughter, Mary Jo (Joseph) Kaiser of South Bend; grandson, Eric R. (Sharon) Kaiser of Parma, MI; sister, Virginia Wieczorek of South Bend; great-granddaughters, Amelie Kaiser of Williamston, MI, Matee Nowicki of Parma, MI; and great-grandson, Trent Nowicki of Parma, MI. Raymond honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He received a Presidential Unit Citation. Raymond retired in 1981 after 35 years of employment with the O'Brien Paint Corporation. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation for Raymond will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm today, April 17, 2013, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619.
