GRANGER - Anthony H. Golata, 88, of Evergreen Road, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Mr. Golata retired from O.J. Shoemaker Co. as a truck driver after 20 years of service. He was born Nov. 6, 1906, in Niles and was a lifelong area resident. On March 6, 1943, in South Bend, he married Bernice Plotnicki. She died Dec. 1, 1964. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Golata of South Bend; a son, Raymond of Ellicott City, Md.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mary Romak of South Bend; and a brother, John of Lansing. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3402 Lincoln Way W., South Bend, and one hour before services on Monday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Program of United Health Services, 811 E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN 46617.
