MISHAWAKA - Charles W. Gushwa, 83, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at his home. He was born August 23, 1932 in South Bend to the late Lee & Gertrude (Johnson) Gushwa. On April 18, 1951 in Osceola he married Mae R. Olinger. She survives along with five children, Beverly (Randall) Glanders of Elkhart, Carol (John) Laws of Osceola, John (Judy) Gushwa of Canyon Lake, TX, Richard (Mary) Gushwa of Buellton, CA and Julie Gushwa of South Bend, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Gushwa of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Charles attended Bethel College in Mishawaka and traveled extensively throughout the world. He loved playing softball and was still pitching at age 65. Charles was the pastor at the Granger Missionary Church from 1956 - 1968, he worked for Crown International from 1982 - 1988 and retired in 1997 from Atlas Soundolier as VP of sales and marketing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Granger Missionary Church, 50841 Birch Road, Granger, IN.
