SOUTH BEND - Bernadine M. Wesolowski, 90, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Bernadine was born August 13, 1923, in South Bend. She married Matt Wesolowski, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Wesolowski, and a daughter, Jennifer Wesolowski; brothers, Leonard, Chester, Aloysius Guzicki, and a sister, Lucille Wieczorkowski. Survivors of Bernadine include her children, Jessica, Dennis and David Wesolowski, all of South Bend; her precious dog, Pookey; and kitty cat, Mickey. Bernadine was a child of the great depression and inherited a strong work ethic. She proudly worked and retired from the Stone Container Corporation. She enjoyed reading the Tribune and during retirement delivered neighborhood papers for 10 years. She was a lector at St. Stephen's Church, a member of the St. Theresa Society and the Michiana Polka Mass Singers. Bernadine was a beautiful person, a very loving and wise mother. She was patient, kind, fun, curious and had a warm smile, who always welcomed everyone into her home with her homemade meals and milk shakes. Everyone who knew Bernie loved her. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am today, June 20, 2014, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with a one hour visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. ST.
