"Mrs. August Kuehn Dead Long Time Withrow Resident Passes Away at Home of Brother

Mrs. Cecilia Kuehn, age 76 years, widow of the late Aust Kuehn of Withrow, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, February 15, 1936, at the home of her brother, August Jesse, 201 W. Olive street. Mrs. Kuehn came to Stillwater on the second of February and has been visiting at the home of her brother and family since. She appeared in good health and her death comes as a great shock to her family and many friends. She was born in Germany and came to this country to Stillwater with her parents when she was seven years of age. She was united in marriage here in Stillwater on May 2nd, 1878, to August Kuehn. Mr. and Mrs. Kuehn made their home in Stillwater until 1899 when they moved to their farm home in Withrow. Mr. Kuehn passed away on March 23, 1931, and since his death Mrs. Kuehn had made her home with her son, Joseph J. Kuehn of Withrow. Mrs. Kuehn was a member of St. Anne's society of St. Mary's church. Surviving are five sons, Joseph J. of Withrow, Leo of Minneapolis, Anton and Laurance of St. Paul; three sisters, Miss Rosalie Jesse, Mrs. Bertha Haak and Mrs. Peter Lohmer, all of this city; one brother, August Jesse of this city; 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren."
