Lucille G. Wieczorkowski
Dec. 14, 1921 - March 4, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Lucille G. Wieczorkowski, 91, passed away at 9:50 pm Monday, March 4, 2013, in Fountain View Nursing Home. Lucille was born December 14, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Steven and Helen (Luzney) Guzicki. On November 28, 1946, Lucille married Richard A. Wieczorkowski, who preceded her in death March 24, 1984. Lucille was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Wieczorkowski; and brothers, Leonard, Chester and Aloysius Guzicki. Survivors of Lucille include her son, Robert Wieczorkowski; sister, Bernadine Wesolowski; granddaughters, Susie Matthys and Amanda Wieczorkowski; grandsons, Cody and Mathew Wieczorkowski, and Dave Bradburn. Lucille retired in 1985 from Mutual of Omaha after 13 years of service; and she was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality, the St. Ceceilia Choir, Harvest House, and Women's Alliance Group. Lucille was also a member of the St. Hedwig Auxiliary, Civic Club, Golden Cluster, Grandmothers Club, American Legion Pulaski Post 357, Chippewa Senior Fun Club, M.R. Falconets Nest 200, the Daughters of Isabelle Circle, St. Theresa's Society of St. Stephen's Church, and was a member of the Michiana Polka Mass Singers. Lucille was a child of the Great Depression, a graduate of St. Hedwig School, had a career as a typist-secretary, & was an avid traveler; she had the bluest of eyes, loved a good bargain, she was a constant reader and enjoyed the Tribune, and she loved pets. Her house was always open to others. She was a keen observer and listener. Everyone who knew Lucy loved her. Lucy was fun, loving and feisty. She gave wise advice when questioned. In later years she enjoyed many special friendships: Kathie, Mindy, Lisa, Diane, and Vernon. Most of all, Lucy loved spending time with her grandchildren. May Lucy rest in God's love for eternity. Visitation for Lucille will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2013, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2013. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Connect, Inc., PO Box 8104 South Bend, Indiana 46660-8104.
