SOUTH BEND - Frank C. Leszczynski, 88, of South Bend, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, in his home. He was born on August 28, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Stanley Sr. and Florence (Babicz) Leszczynski. On August 28, 1948, he married Evelyn Ciesielski, who preceded him in death on April 26, 1997. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Janowiak and Lucy Gadacz; and by two brothers-in-law, Richard Janowiak and Chester Gadacz. Frank is survived by his five sons, Ronald (Phyllis) of Grandview, MI, Donald (Glenda), Gerald and Michael (Julie), all of South Bend, and Paul (Marlies) of ELkhart; eight grandchildren, Mark (Lisa), David (Heather), Adam, Elliott, Amy (Bill), Elyse, Jessica and Sam; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Gadacz of Mishawaka and Marie (Walter) Stefaniak of Crumstown, IN; and by two brothers, John (Rita) Leszczynski and Stanley Jr. (Claudette), both of South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski retired in 1988 from the South Bend Fire Department after 41 years of service. He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Army and Navy Union #146, and a the American Legion Post #357. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
