SOUTH BEND - Genevieve "Jean" E. Wukovits, 84, passed away on Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary at St. Paul. Jean was born on May 31, 1925, in Wyandotte, MI, to the late William J. and Helena (Jablonski) Uniewski. On May 26, 1951, in South Bend, she married Frank N. Wukovits, who preceded her in death on November 6, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steve Rutkowski; and by her stepmom, Catherine Uniewski. Survivors include son, Bruce Wukovits of South Bend, and by her sister, Irene M. Banicki of Mishawaka. Jean enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening. Family and friends may gather from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church.
