James K. Pullappilly, 84, of South Bend, IN, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at Briarcliff Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 20, 1935 in Kottayam, India, to the late Matthew and Elizabeth Pullappilly. In 1961, he married Gracy T. Pullappally, who survives. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his daughter, Lincy (Rafael) Pullappally-Dominguez; son, Jason (Anna Mae) Pullappilly; granddaughters, Grace Anne and Juliet; and sister, Mary Mattam. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth and Anna, as well as two brothers, Matthew and Cyriac. James had a green thumb and was a nature enthusiast. He loved animals. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his granddaughters. He liked listening to music and watching professional wrestling. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services for James. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
