Chuck was born on September 30, 1947 in South Bend to Elmer Jr. and Ethel (Waggoner) Howlett. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 37 years, Sylvia. On October 23, 1968 in Stanislaus Catholic Church South Bend he married the love of his life Sylvia M. Bowen. Sylvia preceded him in death on April 28, 2017. Now after only five weeks they are back together again. Chuck and Sylvia were always together, for 37 years they owned and operated Patricia Ann Florist in South Bend working side by side. He loved bringing happiness to everyone though flowers and seeing the smiles it brought to their faces, many times working long hours and weekends he relished the joy it would bring everyone. His biggest and best joy was his wife, Sylvia. In 2012 they sold Patricia Ann Florist, so they could enjoy retirement together. Chuck also enjoyed a good round of Golf with his many friends. Chuck is survived by two brothers, Mike and Dana Howlett both of South Bend; two brothers-in-law, Charles Bowen of Blairsville, GA and Thomas M. Bowen of Walkerton and many nieces and nephews, friends and acquaintances. Private graveside services and burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 in St. Joseph Cemetery South Bend.
