SOUTH BEND - Elaine J. Jurgonski, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 7:45 a.m. in her home with her husband by her side. Elaine was born on May 6, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Walter and Pearl (Bonczyski) Wroblewski. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Delphine Arndt. On June 21, 1947, in St. Casimir Catholic Church she married Edwin Jurgonski, he survives along with their two children, Kathleen (Stephan) Passwater of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Lawrence (Paula) Jurgonski of Noblesville, IN; five grandchildren, Lisa, Stephan Jr., Cara, Jennifer and Craig; nine great-grandchildren; and by her two sisters, Georgian Vargo of South Bend and Rosemarie Polonka of Elkhart. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and St. Vincent De Paul. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 2505 W. Grace St., Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
