Robert Donald "Ironhead Bob" Verhaegen, 75, born May 25, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana. He passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 due to a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind his adorable wife of 44 years, Donna; daughter, Bridgette; son, Jacob; sister, Margaret Fine; sisters-in-law, Nancy English, S. Zoe Kane (Jacque) and Tenette Verhaegen; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and one great-great nephew. Preceding him in death are his parents Leo & Lillian Verhaegen; brothers, Harvey, Leo, Victor; sisters, Shirley and Joann Mays; nephews, Andy Mays, and Donald Fine. Bob enjoyed Notre Dame football, fishing, playing pool, bowling, beer, and listening to Elvis, along with summers at the lake and playing cards with family & friends.
