BUCHANAN - Kathleen “Kathy” Blank, 81, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Buchanan Meadows. She was born on November 11, 1936 in South Bend, IN to Kathryn and Michael Kish Sr. On February 23, 1957, Kathy married James “Jim” Blank at a ceremony at Our Lady of Hungary in South Bend, IN. Kathleen was employed at Wheelock's, Indiana Bell, St. Joseph Bank, St. Joseph Hospital all of South Bend, IN, and was a homemaker for many years. Kathleen was a devoted mother and wife whose heart's passion was taking care of her family. Kathy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim; sons, Gary (Karen) Blank, Michael (Mary Jo) Blank, and Robert Blank; daughter, Jeanne (Tony) Kostreba; sisters, Rosalie (Ron) Applegate and Terry (Rod) Heisey; grandchildren, Roberta (Jim) McClellan, Veronica Beadle, Mandy Owen, Joany Burkett, Michael Henderson, Justin Henderson, and Derek Blank, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Kathryn; son, Mark Blank; and brother, Michael Kish Jr. Visitation for Kathy will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, in Summit Church, 1700 W. River Rd., Niles, MI 49120, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
