Anthony N. Prathaftakis, 77, of Elkhart, IN, Tony the Greek passed away at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Elkhart General Hospital. Anthony was born on July 20, 1928, in South Bend, IN, to Nicholas and Mary (Costadudykis) Prathaftakis, who both have preceded him in death. Anthony was a member of St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Anthony was the founder of Honey Recreation Vehicle and owner and operator of Town and Country and Belair. On August 15, 1953, in South Bend, IN, Anthony married Joan S. DeMuydt. Joan survives along with their four children, Anthony (Gloria) Prathaftakis Jr. of Greensville, S.C., Dawn Riggle of Elkhart, IN, Cheryl Forkner of Osceola, IN, and Lance (Leigh) Prathaftakis of Goshen, IN; a nephew, George Prathaftakis of California; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gus (Carol) Prathaftakis of Osceola, IN, and Manual Prathaftakis of Greece; and by two sisters, Helen (John) Sarris and Katherine King, both of California. Anthony was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex and George Prathaftakis; and by a sister, Gloria Prathaftakis. Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 2, 2006, from noon. until 6:00 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2006, in St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 N. Ironwood, South Bend. Father Anthanasios Pieri will officiate the services, with burial to follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church
