SOUTH BEND - Anna M. Zwierzynski, 89, passed away on Friday, August 21, at 1:25 p.m. in Hospice House. Anna was born on Aug. 26, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Hipolit and Kastancia (Paczkiewicz) Alexandrowicz. Anna was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Alexandrowicz; and sisters, Hattie Majewski and Helen Majewski. On October 30, 1937, she married Edward P. Wawrzyniak, who passed away on June 23, 1986. On December 6, 1993, she married Edward Zwierzynski, who passed on Jan. 30, 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Van Orman of South Bend; sons, Edward (Marcia) Wawrzyniak of South Bend, Richard P. Wawrzyniak of Venice, FL, and Raymond Wawrzyniak of South Bend; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Deloris) Alexander of South Bend. Anna worked at Singer and then retired from RACO as an assembler after 33 years. She was a member of St. Casimir Parish and also belonged to ZB Falcons, St. Casimir Senior Citizens Club and St. Hedwig Golden Cluster. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A funeral liturgy will be said at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, in the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
