Edmund Lefty Michalski, 92, formerly of North Johnson Street in South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006, in Saint Joseph's Care Center in South Bend, IN. He was born on August 31, 1914, to the late Stanley and Mary (Marcinski) Michalski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with his parents, two sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death. Mr. Michalski retired in 1979 from Indiana Dairy, which was a family-owned and operated business. He had worked there ever since he was a teenager. On November 2, 1940, he married the former Vivian R. Palka in South Bend, IN. She died on March 23, 2003. Advertisement He is survived by one daughter, Joyce J. Baker of South Bend, IN; two sons, Thomas M. (Linda) Michalski of South Bend, IN, and Gerald M. (Kathy) Michalski of South Bend, IN; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Chester (Catherine) Michalski of South Bend, IN. Mr. Michalski was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and the Polish National Alliance #83 Club, both in South Bend. He was also a lifetime member of Chain Â?OÂ? Lakes Conservation Club in Lydick. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, November 19, 2006, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2006, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, with Rev. Michael C. Mathews, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 300 N.
