Mrs. Edward Gresso
Mrs. Ida May Gresso, 89, who spent most of her life in Goshen, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Goshen General Hospital, where she had been a patient since February 1. She had been a patient at the Riley Convalescent Home here since Sept. 29, 1962, and had been in failing health four years. Mrs. Gresso was born in Goshen May 18, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Burkett. She married Edward Gresso June 30, 1893, and he died Feb. 8, 1923. Mrs. Gresso retired in 1952 after working for 26 years at the Chase Bag Company. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Hartman, Elkhart and Mrs. Warren (Bertha) McGinnis, Dunlap; three sons, Melvin and Richard, both of Goshen, and John, Osceola; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one brother, Roy Burkett, Phoenix, Ariz. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Richard E. Allison will officiate and burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Gresso was a member of the First Brethren Church and of the War Mothers.
