SOUTH BEND - Patricia Ann Bonczynski, 81, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in her home. Patricia was born on September 16, 1933, in South Bend, to Chester L. and Florence (Burger) Merrill. She retired in 1990 from Indiana Bell after 33 years of employment. She had also been the secretary/ treasurer for Local CWA 4802. On April 26, 1952, in the Linden Avenue Church of Christ, she married Edward Bonczynski, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Margaret (Richard J.) Kruck of South Bend, Indiana, and Edward (Cynthia S.) Bonczynski Jr. of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Edward (Kayti) Bonczynski, III, Joshua Johnson, and Jessica Bonczynski, and her fiance, Adam Warner. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Florence Merrill; and her brother, George L. Merrill. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, in the West Side Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, and from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church. Patricia was a member of the West Side Church of Christ since 1959. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Church of Christ.
