[N28848] Barbara E. DeLater, 81, of Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend IN, passed away on Friday August 14, 2009, in Hamilton Communities, New Carlisle. She was born on November 12, 1927, in Santa Barbara, CA, to the late Clyde and Eulah (Riggle) Thomas. In September 1945, she married Arthur DeLater, who survives. Along with her loving husband of 64 years, she is also survived by her daughter, Gail (David) Summey of Mishawaka, IN; her sons, Larry DeLater of South Bend, Jeffrey (Christine) DeLater of New Carlsile, and Thomas (Leanne) DeLater of South Bend; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. There will be no services, cremation will take place. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, South Bend, is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana, P.O. Box 4204, South Bend, IN 46634. The family would like to thank the staff of the Meadows at Hamilton Communities for all of their warm and caring support to both Mom and our family.
