MISHAWAKA - Evelyn Jane Bolin, 90, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Evelyn was born on October 26, 1927 in South Bend, IN to Frank and Jennie (Switalski) Kashmer. She was preceded in death by her parents. On July 14, 1951 in Sacred Heart Church in South Bend, she married Harry Eugene Bolin Sr. They were married for 60 years prior to him preceding her in death on January 2, 2012. Surviving are children, Evelyn Mark of Mishawaka, Shirley Bolin of Osceola, Harry (Virginia) Bolin Jr. of Mishawaka, Dorothy Korlowicz of Mishawaka, and Debbie Holloman of South Bend; five grandchildren, Jennifer Kisrow, David Korlowicz, Michael Korlowicz, Kris McNeil, and Kalina Mc Neil; great-grandchildren, Austin Kisrow and Madison Brewster; as well as her sister, Dorothy Bolin. Evelyn worked for Kayline Manufacturing prior to the fire that destroyed the factory. She then began to babysit children at her home. Over the years Evelyn became known as “Mommy Bolin” to many children and was loved as a second mother by several of them. She enjoyed playing outside with the children when she could, often joining in on games of basketball and four square. Evelyn liked to garden as well and loved her roses. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka, IN 46544, with Fr. Chris Lapp officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph PRC Cemetery in South Bend. Memorial donations in honor of Evelyn Bolin may be made to River Bend Cancer Services, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615.
