Obituary: Margaret R. Bajdek

Margaret Ruth "Peggy" Bajdek, 81, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2006, in St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend. Margaret was born on October 1, 1924, in Goshen, IN, to Roy M. and Vera (Seaman) Amos. On July 7, 1946, she married Donald
L. Peterson, who passed on July 27, 1987. Her parents, and her brother, Jack Seaman Amos have also preceded her in death. On March 18, 1989, she married Eugene J. Bajdek in Holy Cross Catholic Church,
Mesa, Ariz. He survives, along with two sons , Larry L. (Deborah) Peterson of Goshen, IN, and William R. "Bill" (Karen) Peterson of Phoenix, AZ.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; and her sister, MaryEllen (Joseph) Bajdek of Fort Myers, Fla. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dottie Amos; and nephew, Kurt Amos. In 1942, Peggy graduated from Goshen High School. She then went on to graduate
from Indiana University, Bloomington with a BS degree in Business Administration. On August 6, 1984, she retired as secretary of Superior Court #5, of which her late husband, Donald Peterson was the Judge. She also worked in the Notre Dame Press Box. She was a life member in VFW Auxiliary, served as president of American Legion Auxiliary and spent 10 years as a government counselor of Hoosier Girls State. Peggy also volunteered at Oaklawn Hospital and The Boys and Girls Club in Arizona. She was vice chairman, and precinct vice chairman
of the Elkhart County Republican Party. She had also been a member of Moose Lodge , Women's Republican Club, Music Parents Club, Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend, and Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mesa, AZ
