WALKERTON - Virgil "Jiggs" Lidgard, 84, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, IN. Mr. Lidgard was born July 2, 1927, in Talma, IN, to Virgil and Inez (Cook) Lidgard, and had lived in the area most of his life. On November 3, 1947, in LaPorte, IN, he was married to the former Marjorie Neff. Survivors include, his wife, Marjorie; two sons, Richard (Deloris) Lidgard of Walkerton and James (Julie) Lidgard of St. Cloud, FL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Johnnie and Donnie; five sisters and two brothers. Mr. Lidgard was a retired operating engineer with Local #150 of South Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of the Bremen VFW, and owned J&M Small Engine Repair in Walkerton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
