GOSHEN - James V. Matousek, 97, of Goshen, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1920, in Chicago, to Vincent and Babora (Ulh) Matousek. He married Rose A. (Pahr) Matousek on Nov. 1, 1947, in Chicago, and she died Oct. 17, 2007. Surviving are daughters Charmayne Matousek (Woody Huffman) of North Webster and Barbara (Ken) Gosse of Mesa, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nephew Wayne Matousek and niece Diane Matousek, both of Elmhurst, Illinois. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife Rose. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a part of the 728 Ordinance Co. of the 28th Division. He was a tool and die maker and retired from Holiday Rambler. James was a member of the DAV, Goshen. He had a passion for model railroads, enjoyed gardening and was proud of his Czech heritage. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret, 311 S. Main St., Goshen
