SOUTH BEND - Lyle Ernest ''Jake'' Redman, 67, of Topsfield Road, died at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Redman retired in 1988 from the city of South Bend. He was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Bremen. On April 16, 1949, in Bremen, he married Susie Jane Croy. She survives with two daughters, Diann Steele and Nanci Dobosiewicz, both of South Bend; a son, Roger of New Carlisle; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Ernestine Bonns of Mesa, Ariz. He was a member of the Mishawaka Barbershop Quartet. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Vallyaires Association of America.
